I figured since the Astra is offered as a sedan and hatch in Mexico, there might be some extra things offered to them that Saturn missed out on.

Here take a look.

Wow, so the ASTRA is offered as a Chevy in Mexico! Interesting, wonder if there are any intentions in switching the nameplate over to Chevy here in the States!! I think I lkike the idea.  Its a good car to have under the Cobalt or Cruze!

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I noticed the Mexican Chevy Astra has more of the European body work than our Saturn versions.

I wonder how hard it would be to get some of the XP body kit parts out of Mexico, I know we can get them from over seas but If shipping would be cheaper coming up from the south would make the price easier to swallow.

Just a thought

I did a little research and it looks like Chevrolet Mexico doesnt even sell the Astra, whether they did in the past I dont know.

I found that Chevrolet Argentina sells an Astra, but not like ours.
They also sell the Vectra, the Vectra GT being a 5door Astra as we know it.

Notice the antenna, looks like a shark fin type to me. Also check out the interior photos, very odd. It is surprisingly easy to navigate a website in a completely different language. The other Vectra looks to be a 4door sedan Astra.

I then went to Chevrolet Chile
They have the Astra, the proper Astra.

They have the standard GTC 3door hatchback as well as the OPC high performance Astra. This is the car I wish we had got. And of course the 5door. But even the GTC car has a 2.0L turbo with 6 speed trans.

I doubt ordering any parts would give you any kind of savings, but its interesting to know that countries on this side of the Atlantic have the OPC cars, too bad its on the wrong side of the equator.
