Welcome!  I think you'll like it here.  You'll need to let us know how the K&N Filter works out.

I have the 17s on my Red Three-Door, and I used to think that I was the only one that had the 17s with a red car, too!  I know there are a few more out there.  Yours looks nice - is it a manual or an automatic, transmission-wise?

Have fun while you're around here.  We all pretty much LOVE our Astras - seems to be the norm!

Sincerely,

It is a manual. I wouldn't have any other way. I've been kind of lurking around this forum for a couple days just looking at how the people are so i don't piss anybody off. and I'm totally with you. I love that little car. It was weird at first due to me owning a POS 3000gt before.

BTW thanks for the warm welcome!!!

I'm glad you got a manual - I also would not have it any other way!

It seems that since we are a small enough group here, and we all love the Astra enough to become members of an "All-Astra" web group (or what ever we could call it), I think that we get along pretty famously.  If you want to see some conflict, try saturnfans.com and go to the Astra Forum and check the thread about a big Astra Convention/Get-together.

Actually, I'm a member of Saturnfans.com and of imsaturn, too.  My wife and I each have 2008 Saturns; she has a Techno Gray VUE XE FWD, and I have....well, you already know that, now, doncha!?

You're welcome for the friendly greeting.  I do try to subscribe to my son's quote on my signature!

Sincerely,

Welcome! Nice 17's, I have seen only one on a XR3 before and I think it looks nice. I have the 17" twin-spokes on my XE5. Nice friendly folk here who love their Astras, and a few admirers too!

I don't know yet how many Canadians are on here but I am one of them and I too own a black 3 door XR with the 17" wheels and 5-speed.  I love my Astra.  I have almost 39,000 kilometres on mine and so am just about due for new sparkplugs.  I've been to my local auto parts retailers and can't find anything for my Astra 1.8 engine except Autolite plugs.  I recall reading someplace that these cars are factory equipped with Bosch plugs.  Does anyone know if this is true?  I haven't removed my OE plugs so I can't say what they are.  Does anyone have any information on this and part numbers for either Bosch or NGK plugs for this car?

Thanks guys.
