I bought the Boomerang armrest at  astraarmrest.com  . 150$ + shipping . Not as easy to put in but when it is it looks like it came like that from the factory .  VERY well made  .

I have to agree with you Roxy .... the Boomerang is a very good item, and looks great in the car. However it does get in the way of the gear shift when the cupholder is in use. Kinda defeat the reason for adding a cupholder if it's in the way while driving.

Exactly right.  I emailed back and forth with Boomerang's President last fall after letting him know my local Saturn dealer carried their product, but the dealer was advising against it's use in manual trans cars.   I wanted his point of view, and he insisted that it was not in the way while shifting.  But just one look at their website's photos and you can see that if a Big Gulp were sitting in that drink holder, you couldn't shift the car.

The one and only one we installed for a customer in a shifter car was removed by the customer after just a few days. Of the four we put in non-shifter cars two of them have been removed by the car owners, we no longer stock the item. If you want an armrest/console without cup holder the KAMEI unit is rather nice.
